How to turn on the boiler correctly for the first time. Convenient Thermex water heater for everyday comfort Turns on with a touch screen

Termex water heaters are ordinary models, ordinary armies of household appliances. Self-installation of a Termex water heater is an example of an ordinary operation. Let us list the key points.

Key points when installing Termex water heaters

Let's look at how to install a Termex water heater yourself. Let us pay attention to the points mentioned in passing. By the way, don’t forget - the entire plumbing is put on at least three and a half turns. Otherwise, cut the thread. Self-installation of a Termex water heater is carried out according to the standard scheme. We will only highlight the silent places.

You cannot operate a Thermex water heater without a magnesium anode. In heating technology, a magnesium anode protects aluminum and steel against galvanic corrosion in circuits containing copper elements. This is stated in SNiPs. It is prohibited to operate iron and aluminum structures downstream from copper ones.

The same applies to water heaters. Copper heating elements are often used. Copper conducts heat well, and the efficiency of the device increases. There are steel heating elements. This is due to electrochemical corrosion: the difference in electrical potential between the steel tank and the heating element is zero. Consequently, destruction is blocked. We would like to note that the process of electrochemical corrosion is not associated with 220 V from the outlet. Metals in nature have a natural potential. Copper is on the right edge in the series of charge values, magnesium is on the left.

When a conductive medium is formed between two metals, charge transfer begins. As a result, one material becomes a donor and breaks down. Water heater tanks, not counting instantaneous models, are made of steel. In some cases, the alloy is alloyed, obtaining the properties of stainless steel, in others it is covered with enamel. There is no third. When the protective layer is broken, the steel comes into contact with water. As a result, if copper is lurking upstream, the process of electrochemical corrosion starts. All the more so because the full force of the impact falls on a small scratched area of steel. Due to this, the process of electrochemical corrosion occurs quickly. The tank begins to leak, the damage cannot be replaced under warranty or repaired. Draw conclusions.

It is difficult to patch a tank - you will have to tear off the external thermal insulation glued (foam) to the walls from the outside. It is necessary to carry out passivation of the damage sites from the inside. The process cannot be called simple and safe. Be clear that operating a water heater without a magnesium anode is unacceptable.

Please note that the tanks of flow-through models are made of copper, so as not to install a magnesium anode, for which there is simply no room inside. A faucet made of non-galvanized steel will gradually be eaten away by corrosion. For protection, use a galvanized steel faucet (copper ones are not commercially available).

Is it possible to install a Termex water heater upside down?

The Thermex water heater cannot be installed in violation of the instructions. Sometimes you need a device with a top connection. The solution is to buy a new water heater.

In normal condition, when the Termex is hanging correctly, the intake tube hole inside the tank enters in the upper quarter, and the inlet pipe in the lower quarter. The heating element is located at the bottom; a thermostat probe passes between the spirals, which is responsible for turning off the device if it overheats. The temperature of the water is determined, not the heating element. How the scheme works:

Let's turn the tank upside down:

  1. Cold water enters from above and hits the divider.
  2. Part of the jet that has bypassed the heating element accumulates below. The device cannot withstand thermal conditions.
  3. As soon as you open the tap, the fence will go from below. The hot water will gradually reach this point and you may get burned.

It's okay until the water in the riser is turned off, usually without warning. Under normal conditions, when the water heater is hung correctly, the water in the tank will not drop below three-quarters. As soon as you turn the tank over, the heating element will be in the air (a pillow will come out of the riser). It turns out that the coils heat up, but the probe hanging in the air cannot correctly determine the mode. The coils overheat and burn out. Repairs under warranty are excluded; be prepared to tinker with the sediment and dirt of the tank to fix the problem.

The presence of a check valve in Termex water heaters

In the store, the check valve is marked with a water flow arrow and is connected to a bypass valve (ribbed fitting in the photo). It is necessary:

  • When water enters the tank from the riser (for the first time you will have to open the mixer slightly and let the air flow). The system works without this, the pillow just accumulates on top and comes off when using the shower. We'll have to bide our time.
  • As soon as the pressure inside the tank is equal to the riser, the check valve slams shut. The heating element begins to heat the water. The coefficient of thermal expansion of steel is less than that of water. The tank begins to bend under pressure. The valve does not allow water back into the riser. Deformation causes damage to the tank, leading to cracks in the protective enamel coating and corrosion (see above). The bypass valve releases excess fluid under pressure.

The check valve prevents the heated water from leaving the riser. It is permissible to use a water heater with an empty tap. When the tap is turned off, the upper part of the tank is drained, but 80 percent will remain inside. To use it, a tee is placed on the inlet pipe at the entrance to the water heater, water is drawn through the valve if necessary. It is important to make the correct wiring diagram. The tee is located between the water heater and the bypass valve.

Let us mention the rule for cutting in a tee. Usually sediment accumulates in the tank. If you cut a check valve into the lower outlet of the tee, when you turn off the water and try to empty the tank through the side outlet, dirt will settle on the valve, which is unfavorable for the operation of the latter. The scheme looks advantageous when the water heater is powered from the side, and the emergency drain goes vertically down. In this case, we partially clean the tank without disassembling the tank and removing the heating element, which is very convenient. Take note.

Place a coarse filter near the riser - the check valve does not like dirt. The internal channel resembles a Latin V placed on its side. There is a mesh at the top, and according to the rules, the entrance wall has a negative slope (directed downward), dirt accumulates inside. Deviate from the rules; during a planned or emergency shutdown of water, the rust will be washed into the riser. But deviation is not allowed. A good owner can clean the filter himself. Signs: the tank does not fill well, but the water drains through the outlet well. If cleaning does not help, the problem is with the check valve; the fittings should be removed and washed.

Before installing the Thermex water heater, make sure there is a convenient approach to the device. Quickly see: removing the heating element is not an easy task. If you do not want to reinstall the Termex water heater yourself, worry about scheduled maintenance in advance. The instruction manual clearly states how many times a year to clean the product by completely emptying the tank.

Boilers became popular in our country when interruptions in hot water supply began. They were also appreciated by the owners of private houses, country cottages, gyms, boarding houses and other premises where hot water is constantly required. Only boilers, both storage and flow-through, make it possible to obtain hot water at relatively low energy costs.

Plumbing supply stores sell heaters from various manufacturers. Naturally, it is difficult for an ordinary consumer to navigate the variety of choices. The easiest way to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of such devices is the opinion of third-party users - reviews and recommendations.

In particular, Thermex water heaters (Termex) have earned good reviews, which we will talk about in this article, providing you with complete information about the products of this company.

Brief characteristics of the boiler

The Termex storage water heater is a modern, efficient boiler, created using the latest technologies from high-quality materials. To ensure a high level of safety in using this electrical device, a protective shutdown device is installed.

In some boiler models, a silver anode is installed, which increases the efficiency and durability of the device - these include devices from the series:

Models RZL, RZB and RSD have an additional index in their name - Silver. This means the presence of silver in the composition, which additionally disinfects the water passed through.

Rules for safe operation

The detailed operating instructions for the Termex water heater clearly indicate safety precautions. In particular, complete electrical safety is only possible with properly installed grounding.

All shut-off valves and other plumbing used when installing the boiler must strictly comply with the pipeline and be certified and meet quality standards. Purchase only proven and reliable fasteners, fasteners and other parts.

Instructions for use of the Termex water heater prohibit:

  • connect the equipment to electricity before the tank is filled with water;
  • operation of the boiler without grounding;
  • use water from the appliance for cooking;
  • drain the water from the tank if the device is connected to the network;
  • make the connection without a safety valve;
  • remove the equipment protection cover when the boiler is connected to the power supply;
  • connect the device to a pipeline whose pressure exceeds 6 atmospheres;
  • fill the tank with water saturated with suspended particles (sand, rust, etc.);
  • use consumables and removable spare parts of low quality.

Entrust the boiler connection only to qualified craftsmen who have the necessary permits to work with electrical appliances.

How to connect a boiler

Connection features, of course, depend on the specific heater model. We will provide you with standard instructions that provide a certain sequence of actions:

  • Before turning on the boiler, you should close the locks that prevent the transfer of hot water from the riser - if this is not done, then there is a chance that you will heat the entire pipeline. This is possible with minimal damage to the check valve;
  • Next you need to fill the tank with water - first open the tap at the outlet of the boiler, then the mixer, and then the entrance to the boiler. This sequence of actions will allow the air accumulated in the tank and system to be squeezed out;
  • when the water begins to flow in an even, continuous stream, the tap on the mixer can be turned off;
  • the next stage is to turn on the device into the network, set the heating settings, and after two hours after connection you can use hot water.

Why is the boiler not working?

Of course, installation must be carried out only if the electrical network, sockets, and RCDs are fully operational, provided that cables of the required thickness are used.

If for some reason the system does not work after installation is completed, you should first check the electrical network:

  • using a specialized tester, make sure that the socket is working;
  • make sure the terminals are connected correctly.

Another common problem is that power is supplied to the boiler, but the system generates an error. In this situation, you cannot do without the user manual - it indicates error codes and their interpretation, as well as subsequent steps to eliminate errors.

If you do not have experience or even basic skills in working with electrical appliances, do not try to repair the boiler and fix the problem yourself.

Which boiler is better: Ariston or Termex? An honest answer to this question can only be obtained in one way - by analyzing positive and negative customer reviews. Therefore, in this article we have collected not only praise, but also criticism of water heaters from Ariston and Termex.

We hope that other people's mistakes will help you buy a truly reliable and durable boiler.

Water heaters Ariston and Termex

The Ariston company reports the following advantages of its products:

  • Width of assortment covering all needs of the household sector . And this is true - Ariston produces more than seven dozen models of storage water heaters, the capacity of which varies from 10 to 200 liters.
  • High quality components . The manufacturer uses proprietary corrosion protection. Mounts magnesium anodes even in budget models. Supplies standard check and safety valves, as well as taps for draining water. Uses environmentally friendly polymer as insulation.
  • Energy efficiency of appliances . Models with a tank capacity of up to 0.1 m3 are equipped with a 1.0-1.5 kW heating element. Therefore, the operation of Ariston boilers does not overload the family or personal budget. After all, the lower the power of the heating element, the “easier” the payment for light.
  • Ease of operation of the unit . Budget models are equipped with a mechanical regulator. Expensive boilers are equipped with digital control units. Moreover, any water heater has an internal temperature controller that optimizes heating in the selected operating mode.

Water heater Ariston ABS PLT R 30 V SLIM

Advantages of Ariston according to customers

Owners of Ariston boilers talk about the following advantages:

  • Possibility of choosing a budget model – some 80-100 liter boilers cost no more than $90.
  • Easy maintenance – the mounting hole of the heating element is equipped with a flanged pipe, which facilitates the process of assembling/disassembling the heating unit.
  • Good heat resistance of the case – per day, the switched off boiler cools down by 10-12 °C.
  • Acceptable heating rate – relatively warm water can be obtained after 25-30 minutes from the moment the boiler is connected to the network.

Disadvantages of Ariston boilers

Ariston boiler owners include the following facts as obvious disadvantages of water heaters from this company:

Water heater Ariston AM 60SH2.0 Ei3 FE

  • Inconvenient location of the temperature regulator - on some models it is located below, under the lid.
  • Lack of a standard reducer that reduces the pressure in the water supply to 6 atmospheres – the boiler can withstand only 7 bar, although the peak load is 16 bar.
  • Problems with the check valve - some owners report cases of leaks.
  • Externally flimsy mount – there are complaints about the standard screws and the number of brackets – there are only two of them. Although no one talks about the facts of the water heater “falling off” from the wall.
  • Lack of standard power cable – this complicates the installation process, forcing the user to use an automatic fuse instead of a plug and socket.
  • Making a tank body from ferrous metal . As a result, the corrosion resistance of the boiler depends on the quality of the enamel or the Ariston AG+ proprietary coating. However, no one has any special complaints about the quality of corrosion protection.

Advantages of Termex boilers – manufacturer’s opinion

According to marketers at Termex, the products of this venerable company have the following advantages:

Water heater TERMEX FLAT DIAMOND

  • Reliable anti-corrosion protection – the insides of the tank of Termex water heaters are covered with a patented material – bioglass porcelain, and the welding seams of the storage tank body are protected by disposable magnesium anodes, which duplicate the central replaceable electrode.
  • High water heating speed – An 80-liter Thermex boiler “boils” in just 1 hour 45 minutes.

    After all, inside the water heaters of this company there are powerful heating elements.

  • Long service life of the heating element – Termex heating elements are made using patented SilverHeat technology, which guarantees an almost eternal service life.
  • Suppression of the process of plaque formation on the walls of the housing and heating element . The unique coating of the tank and heating element prevents scale from settling on the surface of these parts. The salt sediment is simply washed out of the boiler along with hot water.

Advantages of Termex – customer version

Owners of boilers from this trade note the following advantages:

Boiler THERMEX IF 50 V

  • Complete kit for connecting the device to the network – the boiler has a cord, a plug and even a built-in unit with an RCD.
  • Good thermal protection of the case – in an hour the temperature of the heated water decreases by only 1 degree Celsius.
  • Compact dimensions – an 80-liter boiler is placed in a niche above the toilet cistern.
  • Availability of two heaters – if one heating element burns out, you will not be left without hot water.
  • High heating rate – with this device you can use not only a shower, but also a full bath. It prepares a new portion of hot water in 1-1.5 hours.
  • Long service life – most review authors talk about 7-8 years of operation of the water heater.

Disadvantages of Termex boilers

Their owners cited the following facts as disadvantages of Termex boilers:

Water heater TERMEX RZB100

  • High price – with equal characteristics, a Termex water heater will cost twice as much as Ariston products.
  • Expensive operation – boilers with a capacity of 80-100 liters are equipped with heating elements of 2.5-3 kW, which make payments for electricity heavier.
  • Problems at the start-up stage – in networks with poor current quality, you will have to use a transformer, otherwise there will be a voltage drop during start-up.
  • Expensive branded heating elements – due to silver plating, heaters cost twice as much as regular ones and do not last longer than 3-4 years.
  • Confusing management process – without instructions, inexperienced users will not even turn it on. To start, you must enter a certain combination of control characters on the sensor twice.
  • At pressure above 6-7 atmospheres, water flows from the safety valve . But it normal. You just need a special tube that drains the water released by the valve into the sewer.

Which water heater to choose Ariston or Termex - our conclusions

Both Ariston and Termex are well-respected manufacturers of household appliances. Moreover, both companies have an established positive image in the market. Therefore, it is very difficult to say which is better - Termex or Ariston - reviews from water heater owners indicate almost similar advantages and disadvantages.

However, if you “dig deeper”, analyzing the opinions of owners and the reasoning of marketers, the following picture emerges:

  • Ariston is cheaper, and Termex, accordingly, is more expensive. A 100-liter boiler from Ariston costs $85-90. The same boiler from Termex costs $180-190.
  • The Termex boiler is equipped with a touch control panel that allows you to fine-tune the water heating temperature. The Ariston storage water heater is controlled by mechanical switches. Fine tuning is not possible in this case. However, 1.5-kilowatt Ariston heating elements will save more electricity than 2.5-kilowatt Termex heaters. Even with fine tuning of the heating temperature of the latter.
  • No manufacturer has priority in terms of storage capacity. Both Ariston and Termex produce models with capacities from 10 to 200 liters. However, Ariston's lineup is wider than Termex.
  • The Termex body is made of stainless steel and is protected better than the Ariston steel tank. However, you will have to pay twice as much for the quality of the coating.
  • In terms of heating time, Termex has no competitors - Ariston “boils” water twice as long.

Simply put: Ariston is cheaper both at the purchase stage and during operation; Termex is more expensive, but provides more features - faster heating, touch control - and lasts longer. What is closer to you - price or functionality - decide for yourself.

Instructions for starting a Thermex boiler

If installation of equipment is usually carried out by specialists, then the owners themselves have to deal with its startup at least once a year. Let's take a closer look at how to turn on a Termex water heater so as not to negatively affect its performance properties. After all, the duration of operation and frequency of maintenance largely depend on the correct execution of the process.

Work order

Turning on the boiler: The steps for starting the water heater and the settings may vary slightly. It all depends on whether a flow or storage device is used. However, despite the design differences, the order of their inclusion has the same principle. The universal instructions for starting a Termex boiler are as follows:

  • Before turning on the water heater, the shut-off valve for supplying hot liquid from the common riser is closed. This occurs even if a check valve is installed on the pipe. After all, if there is a slight malfunction, the device will heat the central water supply without blocking the channel.
  • Before connecting the Termex storage water heater to the network, it is filled with water. The outlet of the hot liquid device and the mixer open in turn, and after them the inlet of the cold flow. These manipulations are necessary to displace air from the system.
  • After the water has flowed in an even stream, you can turn it off, turn on the unit to the power grid and, after setting the settings and waiting an hour or two, start using it.

The connection diagram for a Thermex water heater when using flow-type devices will be similar, except that the result will be felt immediately.

The next stage after switching on is checking the functionality.

Operating manual, instructions for electric water heaters Termex series RZL, RZB, RSD

Before using the Thermex water heater you need to:

  • Make sure that the power indicators light up when plugged in.
  • Measure the temperature of the liquid supplied to the mixer.
  • After 20 minutes, look at the equipment sensors; if the connection of the boiler with the touch panel is done correctly, the temperature indicator on the device should already increase. If there is no electronic panel, you must once again measure the degree of heating of the water at the outlet of the mixer.

What to do if Thermex does not turn on

The installation process of a Thermex instantaneous water heater or any other model requires the presence of serviceable network elements: sockets, circuit breakers, cables of sufficient thickness. The devices have very high power, so if they do not work, first of all, armed with a tester, you need to check the presence of electricity in the outlet, then the power terminals. Video instructions for installing a Termex water heater will help you find their location, and the tester will help you take readings.

If the voltage is zero, then the cable of the electrical appliance is broken.

What to do if the Thermex water heater does not turn on, or rather, power is supplied, but it gives an error - the most popular question. In this case, you need to open the device instructions and look at the explanation corresponding to the code indicated on the display. If this option is not available, the causes of the problem may be the following:

  • The heating element has a damaged or burnt-out coil. A sign is often a breakdown of electricity on the housing, then the RCD automatically trips and cuts off the power supply. The only way to combat this is by replacing the heating element.
  • The protection is triggered if the heating of the coolant rises above the set limit (usually more than 90 degrees), which occurs both when the control thermostat breaks down and when scale accumulates on the heating element, after which it overheats.
  • The tank is not filled with water. How to turn on a Thermex ID 50V boiler or another model for the first time was discussed above, and if the requirements for removing air from the pipes are not met, a protective mechanism is triggered. Please note that this must be done even if the system is full but has not been used for a long time.

Procedure for setting the heating temperature
and power mode on Thermex water heaters
with electronic adjustment.

An indication of the temperature of the water in the tank appears on the display immediately after connecting the power, but for the device to operate, the electronic unit must be configured.

The start-up begins with the ON/OFF button (on - off), while power is supplied to one heating element (heating element), the lower light (red) Single Power indicator lights up, and for a few seconds the indication of the water temperature in the tank changes to flashing indication of the set heating temperature (in this case, “after the first connection” to the maximum - 75°C).

The second Power Selector button (power switch) controls the start and shutdown of the second heating element.

* If one heating element is enough for the normal operation of your boiler, then permanently connecting a second one is not recommended.

When both heating elements are working, the middle Double Power indicator light is on.

Third button Temp. Selector (temperature switch) allows you to set a limit on the maximum heating temperature within the range of 35 - 75°C.
The first (after startup) press causes a flashing indication of the set water heating temperature (75°C), with the second - the heating temperature setting changes to the minimum (35°C), each subsequent press increases the setting value by 5°C, etc.

When the water temperature in the tank reaches the set value, the heating turns off and the top indicator (green) Temp lights up. Preservation (temperature preservation).

* As already noted, even a short-term power outage of the EWH resets all settings of the electronic unit and water heating stops. To restore normal operation of the device, all the above operations will have to be repeated in this case.

Attention! The design of such models of water heaters provides for the presence of two electronic units - one power unit (it is located inside the device in the lower part) and the electronic display that you see in the top photos (indication and control module).

The main part of the module is a large integrated circuit (chip) that controls the entire operation of the device. This is the most vulnerable part of the EWH (electric water heater) and is sensitive to voltage drops. It is recommended to connect a boiler of this design through a powerful voltage stabilizer (in extreme cases, through a regular surge filter of the “Pilot” type).
The first signs of microcircuit failure are flickering numbers on the display, heating is turned off long before the set temperature is reached, and extraneous sounds may appear (clicks, crackling, etc.).
If you notice something like this, it means the display and control module needs urgent replacement.

To replace the protective anode, heating elements and even the power unit, the water heater must be removed. As for the control and display module, there is no need to remove the device - you don’t even need to drain the water from the tank. However, be sure to remove the bottom cover of the EWH and disconnect from the power unit the small white connector, which is connected to the display module via a thin ribbon cable (disconnect carefully; when connecting back, do not reverse the polarity!).

We remove the bottom cover without draining the water in the following sequence:

1). Disconnect the EWH from the power supply.
2). We use it completely or simply replace all the hot water in the tank with cold water.
3). Close the tap submissions water (cold, blue marking) to the water heater.
4).

Instructions for water heaters

We release the residual pressure in the EWH tank through the emergency drainage of the combined check valve or through the hot water outlet of any mixer and close the tap exit water from the water heater (red marking).
5). We disconnect the cold water line from the inlet pipe, remove the combined check valve and temporarily place a tightly twisted piece of rag (or a regular cotton pad) inside the pipe, which will not allow air to get inside the tank and, accordingly, prevent water from leaking out of it.
6). Carefully remove the marking plastic washer from the pipe. If it is in good condition, then removing it without damaging or damaging the plastic of the lid can be a difficult task (however, after several years of operation of the device, the marking washers often turn out to burst across and can be removed without difficulty - washers especially often burst on hot water pipes).
7). Extracting VR e replaceable plug and screw a metal or plastic plug with a rubber seal along the thread of the pipe (the outer diameter of the plug should allow it to pass freely through the hole in the cover when removing it).
8). We similarly perform all the above operations for the hot pipe.
9). Remove the sticker (in the very center of the bottom cover) and unscrew the long screw that secures it underneath.
10). We check the presence of additional fasteners - on some models there may be side mounting screws - self-tapping screws (very rarely, but sometimes there is also additional fastening of the cover from the rear wall of the water heater - in this case you can consider that you are out of luck and the EWH will still have to be removed).
eleven). If there is no such additional fastener for the bottom cover, then carefully (perhaps lightly tapping it with a hammer through a wooden spacer along the edges) remove it.
12). Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable connector from the power unit and tie a thin cord about 0.5 meters long to it.
13). We remove (carefully tear off) the sticker from the digital display panel - the overlay with explanatory inscriptions (very carefully - the thin plastic may burst!).

14). We unscrew the fastening screws, remove the module from the socket in the thermal insulation and carefully pull out the ribbon cable with the connector (if the cable connector is jammed in the thermal insulation channel, no additional force should be used - try pulling it by the cord in the opposite direction and turning it a little).

Connecting the Ariston Egis Plus 24 ff boiler to working systems

After purchasing a boiler, you need to think about how to connect the Termex water heater yourself.

The quality and duration of the work depends on how correct its installation is.

Specialized stores offer a wide selection of units that heat water.

The combination of high quality and affordable cost is contained in water heaters of the Thermex brand.

They are available in storage and flow types.

The storage units have a reliable design; they can be installed by a person who has no experience in such a matter.

Such a water heater can be installed anywhere in a house, apartment, or cottage. Through it, you can simultaneously supply heated water to the kitchen, bathroom, and shower faucets.

In case of any malfunction, the safety valve built into the system will operate.

Termex flow heaters are assembled from high-quality parts, so their service life is long and the quality of their work is high.

They, just like storage units, have a safety valve. With its help, the device is protected in case of damage.

Before giving preference to any type of boiler, it is worth analyzing the capacity of the tank, the conditions in which the equipment will be operated, and its appearance.

To connect the water heater, you can use the services of specialized companies.

Installation will not take much time, but will cost a lot of money. The cost usually depends on the type of water heater.

It is worth considering that the installation cost only includes basic installation activities. All additional procedures will have to be paid additionally.

There is another option - installing a boiler yourself. For installation to be successful, you must have experience working with plumbing.

By following the sequence of work, the water heater will be installed correctly.

At the same time, you can acquire the following benefits:

  • money will be saved;
  • you can acquire new knowledge and skills that will help solve problems in the event of a water heater failure;
  • If the unit breaks down, you will not need to call a technician to dismantle the water heater.

To install a boiler with your own hands, you need to have the necessary tools and additional elements. To measure the distance between the holes you will need a tape measure.

The tank is installed using anchor bolts, which require holes in the wall. To make them, you will need a hammer drill with a drill of the required diameter.

In addition, you will need wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and wire cutters.

You need to purchase shut-off valves in advance, and the corresponding number of tees for them.

Don’t forget flexible connecting hoses and the required number of meters of plastic pipe if you need to change the water supply in the house.

To install new wiring, it is worth purchasing a three-core wire, the length of which should be no less than the distance between the boiler and the panel. In addition, you need an outlet and a circuit breaker for the panel.

Carrying out preparatory work

Installing a water heater requires determining where it will hang or stand. For rooms with a small area, you can install a small boiler that will hold 50-80 liters of water.

Such tanks are most often hung on the wall. You can choose a water heater with any diameter and design.

If you need to install a container larger than 220 liters, then you cannot hang it on the wall. For such a tank you need to choose a place on the floor.

When mounting a water heating tank on a wall, it is worth choosing a load-bearing wall so that it can support the weight of the unit.

To secure the tank, you need to have anchor bolts available. In some models they come complete with the tank, sometimes you need to purchase fasteners separately.

For water heaters that are placed vertically and have a volume of 30-100 liters, you will need 2 anchor bolts.

If you need to install a horizontal unit with a volume of 50-100 liters, then you need to have 4 fastening elements.

The place where the boiler will be located must meet the following requirements:

  • The water heater must be accessible throughout its entire service life;
  • Installing the tank on the wall provides the ability to withstand a load equal to double the weight of the water heater;
  • It is worth checking the wiring; it must withstand the operation of the water heater. If the wiring is old, it will need to be replaced;
  • It is necessary to check the condition of the pipes in the room, connections must be created to connect the water heater.

Water heater installation

Due to their size, Termex instantaneous water heaters can be installed above the sink, which will significantly save space in the room. Water is heated in a metal flask.

Due to the use of powerful heaters, it is worth making a separate machine for a flow-through boiler.

Thus, the general wiring in the house or apartment will always be in good order and will not depend on the unit being turned on.

The water heater installation scheme can be temporary or permanent. In the first case, a cold water supply is connected to a tee, and then combined with a water heater.

The stationary installation scheme involves the creation of a parallel system for water intake and liquid supply.

Tees must be installed separately for cold and hot water. Shut-off valves are installed behind the tees.

The inlet pipe of the instantaneous boiler must be connected to a water pipe with cold water.

The outlet pipe is connected to a tap through which already heated water is supplied.

The tightness of the system must be checked during a temporary, permanent connection.

To do this, you need to turn on the hot water tap in the shower, bathroom, and kitchen at the same time. If there are no leaks, then you can turn on the electricity.

Termex storage water heaters do not have the same wiring requirements as instantaneous ones.

Installation and connection requires the use of a circuit in which water can be supplied simultaneously to the tap and shower.

Installing this type of boiler yourself is not difficult if you have the necessary tools. Markings are applied to the wall where the water heater will be located.

Fastening elements are installed at the marked locations.

After mounting the tank on the wall, you will need to connect the water and install a safety valve.

When connecting the water supply, make sure that the valve is closed. After the entire system is installed, the operation of the Termex water heater is checked.

When checking, all connections of the pipeline parts must be sealed, and heated water must come out of the tap.

To see clearly what the installation diagram for a Termex water heater is with your own hands, you can watch the video in our article.

How to properly connect a water heater to the water supply system

In order for the connection of a flow-through storage tank to be correct, a certain sequence must be followed.

Most often, each kit contains a diagram that describes the installation of the boiler.

Information for each model:

  • the number of holes that will need to be made in the wall;
  • types and quantity of fasteners;
  • detailed description of pipe connections;
  • what units and equipment will be useful for the installation of the tank to proceed correctly.

To connect a Termex boiler with your own hands, you need to perform the following sequence of actions.

It is worth inspecting the water pipes. If they are worn out, it is recommended to replace them with new ones.

It is allowed to install pipes from any material: metal-plastic, plastic, steel, copper.

It is imperative to install a safety valve on the boiler. Its role is to protect equipment from excess pressure.

Installation must be carried out on the pipe where cold water is supplied. Be sure to use fum tape or sealant to ensure a tight seal.

Ball valves are installed on the pipes that are connected to the water heater. Thanks to them, you can regulate the flow of water into the container.

At the outlet, water will be supplied at constant pressure. This device is important when installing a boiler in multi-story buildings, where the pressure in the water supply system fluctuates.

After the installation of the water supply is completed, you need to open the tap to supply water to the tank. After it is filled, well-heated water should come out of the tap.

At this stage, the tightness of all connections is checked.

How to properly connect a water heater to electricity?

Thermex water heater is a device with increased power.

Before connecting, it is very important to check the wiring in the entire apartment and evaluate its capabilities: the size of the wire cross-section, what it is made of, the maximum load on the wire.

If the wiring is weak, but the wire is in good condition, then it is not necessary to completely change it throughout the entire apartment or house.

In this case, you can lay an additional cable from the water heater to the panel.

This way the Termex water heater will work without breakdowns or failures.

If you are one of those who do not want to put up with interruptions in the supply of hot water, then you need to purchase a water heater. It is only important to decide which type of equipment to choose. The device can be storage or flow-through. If you prefer the first type of device, then you can pay attention to the Thermex ER50 V model. It is a medium-displacement unit that has a small narrow body. This feature allows for convenient installation, because modern apartments often have a small amount of free space that could be used for installing additional household equipment.

Overview of the main features of the heater

Thermex IF 50 V, reviews of which help you make the right choice, has an electronic display with which the user can easily configure the storage heater. Thus, at any time the device can be reset to the desired mode, which will be convenient to use. Thermex IF 50 V is characterized by reliable connections. The supply to the water supply system is made using metal elements that can withstand high internal pressure. A disposable magnesium anode guarantees protection of the heating element and seams from corrosion.

Reviews about technical characteristics

Thermex IF 50 V, reviews of which are interesting to consumers, has a power of 2 kilowatts. According to users, this is quite enough for the water heater to provide the assigned tasks. It is very convenient that the device can be installed on the wall, since in this case it will take up less space. Before making a purchase, pay attention to the dimensions, which are 887 x 235 x 436 millimeters, this will allow the device to fit into the room as harmoniously as possible. Consumers like that the device has a flat shape, but is quite spacious, because the tank volume is equivalent to 50 liters. This vertical water heater of the Thermex IF 50 V brand is capable of raising the coolant temperature to 75 degrees, which is possible with only one heating element.

Installation savings

You can install the device on the wall yourself, since its weight is small and amounts to 16 kilograms. Owners of country houses and apartments choose the described model quite often, since it has an acceptable cost - 11,900 rubles, and also comes with all the necessary consumables. That is why, before starting installation, you will not have to spend additional money on an electrical cord, mounting anchors, or a check valve.

Reviews of positive features

The Thermex IF 50 V boiler has many advantages. Sometimes, it is they who force buyers to incline their choice in his direction. The described equipment is characterized by excellent thermal insulation of the tank and also provides rapid heating of water. The Thermex IF 50 V, according to users, is easy to maintain and quite easy to operate. The equipment is equipped with a tank self-cleaning system, as well as water drainage. If we compare with other models of similar equipment, we can note that this water heater provides water heating in a short time; the tank is completely heated in 1 hour 20 minutes.

If you carry out the installation work yourself, it is important to note that the diameter of the connecting pipes is 1/2 inch. The inner tank is made of stainless steel. As buyers emphasize, this significantly extends the life of the device. But the inside of the tank is not covered. You can verify the quality of the device in practice, but the manufacturer vouches for this and provides a seven-year warranty on the internal tank. A one-year warranty applies to electrical components.

Installation instructions

Thermex IF 50 V, the placement instructions for which you must read before starting installation work, is located as close as possible to the place where hot water is used. This will significantly reduce heat loss in the pipeline system. You will need to hang the equipment from the housing brackets using anchor hooks. The latter are fixed in the wall. Carrying out such work should prevent arbitrary movement of the brackets along the anchors. In order to ensure maintenance of the water heater, the distance to the nearest surface from the protective cover should be 30 centimeters.

Troubleshooting instructions

Thermex IF 50 V, instructions for use of which are included in the kit, may fail after some time. Users should learn how to troubleshoot problems. This will help you understand whether the case requires contacting specialists. Thus, if the pressure of hot water coming from the water heater has decreased, but the pressure of cold water remains the same, then the reason may lie in a blockage in the outlet area.

If, using a Thermex IF 50 V water heater, you encounter the problem described, then you can eliminate it by removing and washing the valves in water. If you notice that the heating period has increased over time, this may indicate that the heating element is covered with scale; sometimes the problem is indicated by a decrease in voltage in the electrical network. In the first case, the user will have to remove the flange and then clean the heating element. In the second case, the owner of the equipment should contact the electrical network operation service.

Quite often, users encounter the fact that the thermal switch button starts to work from time to time. This may be indicated by the fact that the set temperature is very close to the limit or the thermostat tube is covered with scale. In the first condition, you need to turn the thermostat control so as to reduce the temperature or set a certain temperature level on the control panel. If we are talking about scale formation, then you should remove the support flange from the water heater and clean the tube from scale.

It sometimes happens that the Thermex IF 50 V works, but does not heat the water, and the valve may not be closed, and in some cases it turns out to be unusable. Experts advise closing the valve, and if it malfunctions, replace it. If you notice that the control lamp does not light up, and the water heater connected to the network does not increase the water temperature, then the thermal switch button may work. You should check if it is enabled. In this case, the device is disconnected from the network, the cover is removed, and the button is pressed. It must be held until a click is heard. After the cover is installed in place, the power is turned on.
